Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of
your despatch No.40 of 2nd February, 1939, transmitting
the comments of the Minister of Health on the draft of
proposed new regulations under the Quarantine and
Prevention of Disease Ordinance, 1936, and to inform you that regulation No. 3(f) regarding quarantine
restrictions on account of typhus was based on the
Indian (Sanitary Control) Rules, 1936, and was included
in the draft on the assumption that this would be in
accordance with the wishes of the Public Health
authorities in India with which country this Colony
is in frequent communication.
2.
In view, however, of the comments of the
Minister of Health I am prepared to delete this
regulation if you consider such a course to be
desirable.
